SMU has awarded the Inaugural Simmons Luminary Award to three outstanding individuals. Dr. Terry Flowers, The Hon. Geraldine "Tincy" Miller and The Hon. Dr. Margaret Spellings. The award is named for Annette Caldwell Simmons. She is also the namesake of the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at SMU.

I was thrilled because Dr. Flowers asked me to present him at Thursday's award dinner. I've known him for 20 years and he's a Brilliant Educator. He's the Headmaster and Executive Director of St. Philip's School and Community Center in South Dallas. Dr. Flowers grew up on the south side of Chicago and was asked to try out for the Chicago Bears. But he turned 'Da Bears down because he had a calling to work in education with young children. St. Philip's is PreK-3-6th grade and the students are sharp, successful, smart and they have the most beautiful manners...excellence is expected and the students always give their best. The school is known as "The Miracle on Pennsylvania Avenue".  It truly is.  The address is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...they're living up to that address.

Former First Lady Laura Bush was the presenter for Dr. Margaret Spellings, the former U.S. Secrectary of Education.  Gladys Kolenovsky introducded Mrs. Miller.

      Congratulations to all three Honorees!!!

FM 205 near Hwy. 78 on the east edge of Wylie is OK most of the time, but when it rains...reports from the locals in the area say water pools there quickly and the chance of spinning out of control is great.

Unfortunately, that intersection turned deadly this morning (11/20).  As Fox 4's Lynn Kawano reported on Fox 4 news at 5:

THREE PEOPLE WERE KILLED WHEN A MINIVAN CRASH WITH A HYUNADI S-U-V ON HIGHWAY 205 NEAR HIGHWAY 78.  POLICE SAY THE DRIVER OF A HYUNDAI HYDROPLANED AND CRASHED WITH A MINIVAN.  THREE PEOPLE IN THE MINIVAN DIED. THE ONLY SURVIVOR IN THAT VEHICLE WAS A CHILD. IN THE OTHER CAR, A WOMAN AND A TEENGER WERE HURT. A 4 YEAR OLD GIRL WAS TAKEN TO CHILDRENS MEDICAL CENTER IN DALLAS. THE OTHER TWO SURVIVORS WERE TAKEN TO PLANO MEDICAL CENTER AND ARE EXPECTED TO BE OKAY.

Police say weather did play a part in the crash and other terms such as "horriffic" were used by the officers to describe the mess of mangled metal left in the wake of the collision.  Here's what local Johanna Runnels had to say about this stretch of road in an open letter to Fox 4:

Our son hydroplaned on this same section of highway several years ago but fortunately ended up crashing into a fence and suffering minimal personal injury and not killing himself or others. What government entity is responsible for maintaing this stretch of highway? Roads should be constructed to allow water to run off rather than pool on the surface. My heart breaks for the families of those killed in this horrible accident. We live off SH 205 and heard all the sirens but didn't learn until the news came on at noon today what had happened.

Maybe this will serve as a wake up call to take a harder look at this stretch of road more closely.

  • HEALTH CARE REFORM

Sen. Cornyn's Health Care Reform Alert

      Thursday, November 19, 2009

Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid released his 2,074-page health care bill, which Senate Budget Committee analysis shows will cost American taxpayers $2.5 trillion when fully implemented over ten years.

Until we have had a chance to read the full 2,074 page Reid Bill, it’s impossible for Americans to fully grasp what the Majority Leader has cooked up behind closed doors. It is my hope that Sen. Reid will afford all Americans the same courtesy that he had: ample time to study the legislation and deliberate the best way to proceed.

What we do know so far, as reported by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), is that this bill will have a wide, negative impact on Americans across the board – from seniors on Medicare to small business owners to future generations of Americans who will be footing the bill. The bill will increase taxes on all Americans by nearly half a trillion dollars and breaks the President’s pledge not to raise taxes on working families earning less than $250,000—at a time that unemployment is at a 26-year high.

While CBO has not been given time to analyze the Reid bill’s impact on premiums, every other independent analysis to date has found that Reid’s new mandates and taxes will increase health care premiums on American families. The Reid bill increases taxpayer spending and liability for health care over the next ten years—instead of reforming our already insolvent entitlement programs. It will gut the already insolvent Medicare program by $464.6 billion, hurting access to care for seniors. It includes a government-run public option that will, according to CBO, have premiums higher than private plans and cause millions of Americans to lose the coverage they currently have. The largest expansion of Medicaid since it was created means the Medicaid program will be the only coverage option for 60 million Americans. It will also impose $28 billion in punitive taxes on employers who do not comply with Washington’s new job-killing mandates.

These initial findings are troubling, to say the least. My staff and I will be pouring over the 2,074 pages, assuming we are given the time to do so. You can access the full text of the Reid bill from my web site:http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/?p=HealthCareReformHQ.

It is essential that Congress take the time get health care reform right. If the President and Majority Leader are more interested in getting health care reform right for all 300 million Americans than they are in putting a political feather in their cap for the midterm elections, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Senator John Cornyn wants to keep Texans informed and engaged as the debate on health care reform moves forward in Washington. Please visit www.cornyn.senate.gov and www.facebook.com/Sen.JohnCornyn to share your ideas for how best to reform our health care system and to recommend others who might want to join the dialogue by receiving these Health Care Reform Alerts.

Secret CCTV cameras fitted INSIDE people's homes to spy on neighbours outside

      By Daily Monitor Reporter
Last updated at 9:22 AM on 19th November 2009

CCTV cameras are being fitted inside family homes by council 'snoopers' to spy on neighbours in the street outside, it was revealed today.

The £1,000 security cameras have been placed inside properties but are trained on the streets to gather evidence of anti-social behaviour.

Each device is linked to a laptop computer and accessible online by police and council officials 24 hours a day.

But the trial inside two homes by Croydon council in south London has sparked new fears about invasion of privacy and Britain's ‘surveillance society’.

      Alamy.jpg

The high street in Addington, Croydon. The London borough has become the first to test out placing CCTV cameras inside homes

And critics said the extra surveillance was only needed because police had failed to tackle the problem.

A council spokesman said the cameras would allow the authorities to respond quickly to anti-social behaviour and gather evidence for criminal prosecutions.

He denied they would be used to spy on neighbours and said more cameras could be installed if the pilot proves a success.

But critics say the scheme has echoes of the East German Stasi secret police, which recruited members of the public as spies.

Charles Farrier, of No-CTV, said that the move was ‘a step further in our Big Brother society’.

He said: ‘There is no evidence they act as a deterrent and we should be concentrating on the root problem anyway and working to gel our communities.

Alex Deane, director of Big Brother Watch, warned the cameras would create a 'culture of fear and mistrust'.

The cameras are used to look for anti-social behaviour

He said: 'People accept these cameras into their homes because they are afraid.

'The council might be installing them with the best intentions, but the end result is a culture of fear and mistrust driven by a failure on the part of the borough and the police to have proper law enforcement in this area.

'Better to have real action from the failing authorities than to extend once more our surveillance society.'

A Croydon spokeswoman confirmed that the cameras cannot be seen from the street and refused to say in which areas they had been installed.

Residents taking part did not want their families or locations identified for fear of reprisals.

Images can be viewed on a computer and accessed remotely and the evidence used to take people to court.

The trials have been running for the past week.

But some local residents have backed the idea. Kirenna Chin, 30, said: ‘Louts use my hedge as a bouncy castle and urinate in my front garden. It's very intimidating.

‘It's a fantastic idea to fit hidden CCTV. If they offered me one I would definitely take it.’

Gavin Barwell, Croydon's cabinet member for community safety, said: ‘This is good news for residents.

‘These CCTV kits give us another weapon to fight anti-social behaviour quickly. We'll be working together with the police to put them to best use.’

Croydon has one of London's most advanced CCTV networks.

The control room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and there are 77 fixed cameras, a rapid-response mobile unit, and three wireless units.

    • From: Ellafrella
    • Description:

Ukraine, WHO And The Geopolitics Of Swine Flu Panic

      By F. William Engdahl

Latest reports of what is being called a deadly Swine Flu outbreak in Ukraine according to on sight reports appear to be a political concoction by a threatened government to avoid election defeat and possibly declare martial law.
The details indicate how convenient the current WHO "Swine Flu" H1N1 "pandemic" scare is for regimes in trouble.

Worldwide media reports in recent days have painted a picture of Ukraine as being under the Black Plague or worse. One of the most egregious panic-mongers has been Pittsburgh Swine Flu "mapper" Dr Henry Niman who earlier falsely predicted H5N1 Avian Flu would mutate into a deadly human-to-human pandemic. It didn't.

Niman's map of the spread of alleged H1N1 Swine Flu since April has given WHO, the US Government and CNN and major media a convenient graphic to create the image of a new type of "bubonic plague" threatening mankind unless we react with massive doses of untested vaccines from such unscrupulous pharma bigs like GlaxoSmithKline or Novartis or Roche with its dangerous Tamiflu drugs.

Early on Niman reported about events in Ukraine: "The rapid rise in reported infections, hospitalizations, and deaths in the past few days raise concerns that the virus is transmitting very efficientlythe spike in fatalities and the frequency in hemorrhagic cases in Ukraine have raised concerns." Niman added the alarming note, "The number of infected patients has almost doubled to just under million, compared to the report two days ago."

That's pretty scary stuff. It conjures images of the reports of the Black Death in 1348 which is said to have killed up to 60% of Europe's population. Though that history has been challenged, the image as well as the equally terrifying if incorrect panic image of the so-called Spanish Flu of 1918, are being applied in Ukraine.

      Reality check?

The WHO, the de facto criminal organization responsible for declaration of the H1N1 Pandemic last summer, allowing Governments like the USA and Ukraine to declare martial law and a national state of emergency, suspending all rights and imposing arrests and detentions, has validated the dubious Ukraine claims of out-of-control spread of Swine Flu. A WHO press statement November 3 declared, "Laboratory testing in Ukraine has confirmed pandemic H1N1 influenza virus in samples taken from patients in two of the most affected regions. As the pandemic virus has rapidly become the dominant influenza strain worldwide, it can be assumed that most cases of influenza in Ukraine are caused by the H1N1 virus."

The WHO added, "The outbreak in Ukraine may be indicative of how the virus can behave in the northern hemisphere during the winter season, particularly in health care settings typically found in Eastern Europe. Given the potential significance of this outbreak as an early warning signal, WHO commends the government of Ukraine for its transparent reporting and open sharing of samples." The samples have been sent to the WHO Mill Hill Influenza Reference Lab in London, not exactly inspiring confidence in a scientifically honest report given the record of UK health authorities in manipulating data to please the vaccine giants like GlaxoSmithKline.

WHO "strongly recommends early treatment with the antiviral drugs, oseltamivir or zanamivir, for patients who meet treatment criteria, even in the absence of a positive laboratory test confirming H1N1 infection." That means Tamiflu, the highly dangerous drug whose major shareholder includes former Pentagon head Don Rumsfeld. And it means GlaxoSmithKline, maker of the reportedly equally dangerous rival Relenza drug. The drugs produce precisely the symptoms of severe lung complications found in flu and in some cases have reportedly caused death.
      Ukrainian election geopolitics

The bizarre developments in Ukraine over the past two weeks are being blamed inside the country on intense Ukrainian election politics. In four months national elections in Ukraine are due. Among rival candidates are Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and her chief rival, Arseniy Yatseniuk.

Since Washington financed and organized the 2004 Orange Revolution that brought a pro-NATO Victor Yushchenko in as President, Ukraine politics has been a geopolitical tug-of war between Moscow and Washington. How the current political games around allegations of H1N1 panic play into that tug of war is not yet clear.

The recent speech in Warsaw by Vice President Joe Biden offering Poland and the Czech Republic a "new and improved" version of US anti-missile defense against Russia only four weeks after Obama announced the US was backing out of a controversial earlier missile defense plan for the two eastern European countries underscores the shambles of US strategic policy towards Russia. Russia has been quick to take advantage as might be expected, as a US missile shield on its borders, as I detail in Full Spectrum Dominance: Totalitarian Democracy in the New World Order, gives the US a long-sought nuclear primacy over its only potential strategic rival on the planet. At that point the resistance of the rest of the world to incalculable or objectionable US policies, whether in Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia or wherever, becomes moot.

It's clear Moscow has been working quietly to bring Ukraine, an original part of Kiev Rus, and a strategically essential part of the Russian economy, back into a more friendly "NATO-free" relationship after five years of Orange Revolution chaos in Ukraine under Yushchenko. .

Yatseniuk, a 35 year old former banker and aide to Washington's darling, President Viktor Yushchenko, has charged that Tymoshenko is deliberately fostering unnecessary panic in order to impose martial law and suspend elections that she might well lose to Yatseniuk.

There definitely are political games going on by one or another faction in the economically devastated Ukraine. Oleksandr Bilovol, Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Health, claims the outbreak of flu cases in Ukraine has been essentially contained in 11 out of 25 Ukrainian regions, with the number of people allegedly stricken with H1N1 only 15% higher than figures reported in previous years. "Figures in other the regions are in line with 2007 and 2008," Bilovol said. As well the number of reported deaths is also in line with deaths annually attributed to ordinary influenza.

Tymoshenko declared the outbreak as the threat of the third level the highest possible to unlock spending of up to 3 billion hryvnias to combat the swine flu. Among measures imposed by the decree include shutting down schools and public gatherings for three weeks across Ukraine, with the government also considering introducing restrictions on movement of people between the regions.

Yatseniuk said the ban on public gatherings spreads fear and panic helping Tymoshenko to promote herself on television, while hindering other presidential candidates to campaign.
Yatseniuk is Tymoshenko's biggest rival as both compete for votes in western regions of Ukraine. He is perhaps the only candidate that may challenge Tymoshenko in the first round of vote on January 17, 2010 to enter the runoff with opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych.

Yatseniuk said the panic spread by the government helps overshadow issues politically damaging to Tymoshenko, including pedophile and the murder scandals involving Tymoshenko lawmakers, and Ukraine's dismal economic performance.

Prime Minister Tymoshenko, whatever the real facts of the case, is using the WHO Swine Flu panic scenario to the hilt. In a recent statement, she stated, "We cannot relax even for a moment because the World Health Organization predicts two more waves of flu, including the bird flu, are expected in Ukraine. There is no alternative to vaccination. The entire world is going this way" A day earlier she admitted she was not vaccinated and that she prefers "like all other people" plans to rely on garlic, onion and lemon as a way of preventing the flu.

Ukraine Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn accuses Tymoshenko as well, declaring, "You've organized the flu epidemic in order to avoid responsibility for not supplying heat to houses, schools, higher educational establishments, and kindergartens," he said in Parliament. And Orange Revolution President, Yushchenko has declared there was no reason for declaring an emergency in Ukraine. "There are no such reasons," Yushchenko said. "I am not a supporter of measures that freeze the country, restrict its operation to levels that is hard to justify."

Ihor Popov, Deputy Chief of Staff to Yushchenko, said that in case of emergency the election, which is due on Jan. 17, 2010, would have to be "rescheduled."

      Germany joins Swine Flu corruption

Not only is the Ukrainian government apparently using fears of Swine Flu pandemic to change the domestic political calculus, and President Barack Obama using the fears to impose an unnecessary state of emergency. Now it comes out that the responsible German health authorities are caught in a corrupt conflict of interest with the very pharma giants profiting from government decisions on "anti-swine flu" vaccines.

The recent issue of the German weekly Der Spiegel, reports that members of the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI), which claims to be an independent scientific advisory body advising EU member governments on policies regarding H1N1 influenza, is anything but independent. It's being financed by Big Pharma. ESWI claims it brings together scientific "key opinion leaders in influenza." However the sole financial backers are 10 pharmaceutical companies, including GlaxoSmithKline -- manufacturer of the German swine flu vaccine -- and Roche -- producer of the antiviral drug Tamiflu.

The group lists Walter Haas as one of its scientific advisors. Haas coordinates Germany's flu pandemic preparedness measures at the Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI), the federal institute for disease research. ESWI portrays itself as an independent group of scientists. But even the organization's own statute tells a different story, describing its role as advising politicians and health authorities on "the benefits and safety of influenza vaccines and antivirals" and initiating "a policy for antiviral provisions."

The degree of fraud, deceit, official coverup and outright criminal endangerment of the broad population by the current Swine Flu hysteria is seemingly without precedent.

A few months back I received a notice that my Medicare Premium would increase in 2010 which is ok prices for everything go up almost ever year. Today I heard on the noon news that some of my Medicare medical benefits would be cut to pay for a Nationalized Health Care system that will be of no benefit to me and will be a detriment to my health. I also noticed if you are 64 years old  and younger and have an underlying medical condition, you can get a swine flu shot, if you 65 or older crawl off in a corner and die. How is this not rationing health care.  Our taxes will go up the minute the bill goes into effect and yet no one will receive any benefits from this bill until 2014. Wouldn’t that fall under “NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION” ?
By the way since AARP jumped in bed with obama,Pelosi ,reid and the other liberals, I cut up my card months ago and mailed it back, instead of my dues. It would be nice to see a few others back me up. I would like to see them go belly up , wonder if obama would bail them out.

  • Obama Fires Inspector General

    • Description:

Obama fires Gerald Walpin for "no" reason. He was just doing his job investigating AmeriCorps money that went to a community group called St. HOPE Academy, which was founded by Kevin Johnson, former point guard of the Phoenix Suns, who was elected Mayor of Sacramento last November, and who just happens to be a buddy of Obama's. Does it not seem strange that Obama would fire someone who was investigating a friend of his?

      Click_Here_Red2-10.gif picture by bugsbunny42

Anyone who paid attention to the election last year knows what is happening; it's called Chicago politics at its finest. And it seems that Obama is a pro at it. Does Obama think that he can get away with something like this? The answer is yes. The fact of the matter is that any President can get away with anything up to and including murder, if the news media does not cover it, or they bury it in the back pages.

But all is not lost, I do see hope for the future. I feel that the stucco façade that surrounds Obama is beginning to crack, and that soon chunks of it will begin to fall off, which will expose Obama for what he truly is, which is an imposter, a fake, a charlatan. It will be at this time that the news media will begin to smell blood, and they will rush to investigate the imposter so as to look as if they were on the job from the beginning; they will not want to be left holding the bag.

Now here's part of a hack piece by ABC News. The comments are better than the article.

      Political Punch

Power, pop, and probings from ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper

President Obama Fires Controversial Inspector General

With little public notice, President Obama Thursday fired the Inspector General of the Corporation for National and Community Service, Gerald Walpin.
Saying he was exercising my power as president, Mr. Obama suspended Walpin with pay, saying his termination would be effective 30 days from now.
      http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpun...

Obama fires Inspector General - Politically motivated and illegal?

When President Bush fired a handful of U.S. Attorneys in 2006, all of which were appointed by him and "serve at the pleasure of the President," the cries of "political corruption" from the newly Democrat-controlled Senate could be heard across America.
Today, President Obama has terminated a government inspector general, possibly in violation of laws established to prevent the same kind of political influence Bush was accused of using.
Gerald Walpin, whose job it was to review grants awarded by AmeriCorps and its parent agency, the Corporation for National and Community Service, had discovered improprioties involving a charity headed up by the Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson. According to his investigation, Mr. Johnson's "St. HOPE Academy" had misappropriated nearly $1 million by using money to pay volunteers for political activities, run personal errands and even wash his car.
Mayor Johnson is a huge supporter of Barack Obama's, and this link between the two of them gives every appearence of political payback, not to mention the possibility of serious illegalities by the President.

Why did the White House act so quickly to fire Gerald Walpin and attempt to discredit him with allegations of senility?  Until now, it appeared that the Obama administration got angry with Walpin for publicly opposing a settlement with Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson on allegations of fraud in handling federal funds that would have allowed Johnson to continue to receive such funds.  Now, however, the Washington Examiner reports that a Congressional inquiry has discovered that Johnson may have used that money to pay off women accusing him of sexual harassment — and that Walpin had gotten too close to the truth:

In the spring of 2008, Walpin’s office received a tip that Johnson had misused AmeriCorps money. Walpin sent two investigators to Sacramento to check the story out. They discovered that money had in fact been misused, and also learned of the allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct by Johnson.

In August 2008, at the time Walpin referred the matter to the U.S. Attorney, he also presented the evidence of misuse of federal money to officials at the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that oversees AmeriCorps. In September 2008, those officials barred Johnson from receiving any more federal money.

All this was happening as Johnson was running for mayor of Sacramento, a race he won in November 2008. Johnson’s suspension from receiving federal money became a hot issue in early 2009 after Congress passed the $787 billion stimulus bill. Many people in Sacramento worried that the city would not be able to get its share of that money if the mayor was banned from receiving federal dollars. …

The new report strongly suggests that Walpin was in fact fired because of the dispute over St. Hope and concludes that the White House “orchestrated an after-the-fact smear campaign to justify” Walpin’s dismissal.

The report says the allegations of sexual misconduct and a cover-up “provide important context for Walpin’s insistence that the St. Hope matter should not have been settled without further inquiry.” In light of those allegations, the report says, complaints that Walpin was being too aggressive seem unfounded. “The content of the referral tends to undermine any notion that the [inspector general's] investigation was driven by inappropriate motives on the part of Walpin,” the report says. “Rather, it appears to have been driven by non-political, career investigators simply following the facts.”

Who allegedly arranged for the transfer of hush money? In one of the stranger twists in an already strange story, Johnson’s fiancee Michelle Rhee — better known now as the head of the Washington DC school district:

At the time, Rhee was on the board of St. Hope. A former St. Hope employee who reported one of the allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct by Johnson told Walpin’s investigators that Rhee “learned of the allegations and played the role of a fixer, doing ‘damage control,’” the congressional report says.

The employee told investigators that Rhee told her that “she was making this her number one priority, and she would take care of the situation.” A short time later, the employee learned that the girl who had complained about Johnson had received a visit from Johnson’s personal attorney.

The congressional report quotes the girl as saying the attorney “basically asked me to keep quiet,” and Johnson offered her $1,000 a month for the duration of her time with St. Hope. Once investigators learned about that, the report says, they had “reasonable suspicions about potential hush

    • From: jerr
    • Description:

Will it take 100 million dollars  of pork money (our tax dollars) to buy one democrat health care vote in the senate?  That is the question that democrat Senator Landrieu of Louisiana  will have to answer.

Democrat Cold Cash Represenative Bill Jefferson of Louisiana only received a 13 year  jail time for $90,000 of bribe money in his freezer.  Nothing unusual for corrupt politicians from Louisiana.

Jefferson and Landrieu have an excuse, they are democrats.  What is your excuse Anh Cao, the only Republican Represenative in the Congress that voted for Obama's socialist health care bill?

  • similar creatures, you and me

    • From: mel
    • Description:

      Hello again everyone. Mel here,

It's Friday, something we can all be thankful for, unless of course you have to work tomorrow too. I'm not quite sure where to begin here other than to say that I am not here to debate religion, or God, or the existence of a God with anyone. There is plenty of that in the world already. Yes I am a relgious person and I dearly love the Lord, however I do realize that my beliefs will not set well, or be accepted by everyone. I'm okay with that. Why? you may ask, well to put it in the simplest terms, I don't know everything about everything. I never claimed to nor will I ever. I don't know for sure how we all ended up here on this big ball of mud called Earth. I know what I believe, but do I know for an absolute fact that I am 100% right? no, I don't. That being said, I can hardly tell someone else that they are wrong now can I.

You can tell me that there is no God, that I'm crazy, and that I'm just some kind of relgious nut for believing how I believe. but can you prove me wrong? I'm sure you could baffle me with scientifics, in fact that would be easy, because I get confused easily. but you can't change what I feel inside. Nor can I change you.

As to where I stand, I am not here to judge anyone and I won't. I could go on and on telling you about God and how he makes me feel, if you would listen I'd love to tell you. But if you'd rather not hear it, I am happy to shake the dust from my feet and move on. I see alot of Christians bending over backwards and at times getting quite angry and borderline hostile with others during arguments over religion. Is this Christian? to me, no it is not. Jesus never attempted to force anyone to believe in him, he gave them a choice. A choice that we all have. I have made my decision and hopefully you have too. Did I make the right choice? well, I don't know. It feels right to me and in the end that is all that matters. Did you make the right choice? Well, I don't have that answer either.

In the end, that is the absolute true meaning of faith, to believe that something exists, and not require hardcore facts or proof. How easy would it be to believe in God if you had absolute proof? too easy. There is no faith in that. And all religions are based on faith, If you get right down to it, not believing in God is also faith based. You have to believe in something and to do that requires faith.

See. In a way we're all the same. none of us has all the answers and we all believe in something. Who is right and who is wrong? well that is something we will never know as long as we are here, so why argue about it?

I have said this before but it is worth repeating. I will listen to you, if you will afford me the same courtesy.

  • Fox is Fake AGAIN !!

    • From: Gomer
    • Description:

Fox News is full of it, shifting the blame to a "production error"...yeah right, keep it up Fox and sooner than later you will be reduced to junk bond status

Fox News again accused of airing misleading video

For the second time in just over a week, Fox News is coming under fire for misusing old news footage. The latest flap is leading some people to charge that the cable news network is intentionally misleading its audience, while Fox claims a "production error." Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning." However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video." On Thursday afternoon, Fox News issued an on-air apology delivered by host Jane Skinner: Yesterday we told you about Sarah Palin kicking off her book tour and then we spoke to Sean Hannity about an interview that he did with former Governor Palin. When introducing the segment we showed you footage of people lining up in Michigan for a book signing that evening. In the tease before the segment, the tease to commercial, we told you how those people were already lining up to meet Palin. The problem is we didn't show you the video we were actually referencing. Instead we mistakenly aired what's called "file tape" of Sarah Palin. We didn't mean to mislead anybody in that tease. It was a mistake, and for that we apologize. The current mishap comes on the heels of a controversy sparked last week when footage from a conservative rally held over the summer was played on "Hannity" during a segment on a more recent rally. During the clip, host Sean Hannity marveled over the large turnout for a Washington, DC protest. The Daily Show later pointed out that there seemed to be some inconsistencies with the video shown on Hannity's show, namely that the atmospheric conditions seemed to vary from shot to shot. Hannity later apologized on the air for what he called "an inadvertent mistake." Barely a week into Palin’s blitz to promote “Going Rogue,” media coverage is becoming its own story.

  • A LETTER FROM CANADA

    • From: pleasechooseanother
    • Description:

This is an old e-mail someone sent it around again today, but in view of the events of late, a reminder.

Thought you might like to read this letter to the editor ~ ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?.

      This one sure does!

This was written by a Canadian woman, but oh how it also applies to the

      U.S., U.K. and Australia

THIS ONE PACKS A FIRM PUNCH

Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!

Written by a housewife in New Brunswick , to her local newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by radical Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

      ?

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

      ?

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of

nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

      I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:

      I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled, ' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

      I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it,

      I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends.? Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country!? And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't have that problem.'

I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I hope you forward all this.

One last thought for the day:

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

      1. Jesus Christ

      2. The BritishSoldier.

      3. The Canadian Soldier.

      4. The US Soldier, and

      5. The Australian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ALL OF THEM.

      AMEN!

Here Here! Give this lady a standing ovation, she has indeed, ticked all the boxes
