      Hello again everyone. Mel here,

It's Friday, something we can all be thankful for, unless of course you have to work tomorrow too. I'm not quite sure where to begin here other than to say that I am not here to debate religion, or God, or the existence of a God with anyone. There is plenty of that in the world already. Yes I am a relgious person and I dearly love the Lord, however I do realize that my beliefs will not set well, or be accepted by everyone. I'm okay with that. Why? you may ask, well to put it in the simplest terms, I don't know everything about everything. I never claimed to nor will I ever. I don't know for sure how we all ended up here on this big ball of mud called Earth. I know what I believe, but do I know for an absolute fact that I am 100% right? no, I don't. That being said, I can hardly tell someone else that they are wrong now can I.

You can tell me that there is no God, that I'm crazy, and that I'm just some kind of relgious nut for believing how I believe. but can you prove me wrong? I'm sure you could baffle me with scientifics, in fact that would be easy, because I get confused easily. but you can't change what I feel inside. Nor can I change you.

As to where I stand, I am not here to judge anyone and I won't. I could go on and on telling you about God and how he makes me feel, if you would listen I'd love to tell you. But if you'd rather not hear it, I am happy to shake the dust from my feet and move on. I see alot of Christians bending over backwards and at times getting quite angry and borderline hostile with others during arguments over religion. Is this Christian? to me, no it is not. Jesus never attempted to force anyone to believe in him, he gave them a choice. A choice that we all have. I have made my decision and hopefully you have too. Did I make the right choice? well, I don't know. It feels right to me and in the end that is all that matters. Did you make the right choice? Well, I don't have that answer either.

In the end, that is the absolute true meaning of faith, to believe that something exists, and not require hardcore facts or proof. How easy would it be to believe in God if you had absolute proof? too easy. There is no faith in that. And all religions are based on faith, If you get right down to it, not believing in God is also faith based. You have to believe in something and to do that requires faith.

See. In a way we're all the same. none of us has all the answers and we all believe in something. Who is right and who is wrong? well that is something we will never know as long as we are here, so why argue about it?

I have said this before but it is worth repeating. I will listen to you, if you will afford me the same courtesy.

It’s now possible to connect with the homeless

so you can listen to their stories and communicate that you care.

      www.Homelesspartners.com

The homeless are real people, with real lives, real feelings, real hopes and dreams.  They are men and women who have lost their homes and families; they are brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.  Each one has a real-life story with real reasons for their homelessness.

Homeless Partners depends on media coverage and word of mouth to make the community aware of the website.  Media publicity is the main thing needed to make the project work.  We welcome any celebrities who would like to participate in photo ops to help publicize the project.  Everyone involved in the project works on a volunteer basis.  All donations are in the form of gifts, cards and letters that go directly from the donor to the recipient at the shelter where he/she is residing.

Homeless individuals are interviewed at shelters.  They are asked for their Christmas Wish List as well as a little about their personal “stories” - whatever they feel comfortable sharing.  The community members can read the stories and make a personal connection by pledging gifts on the website.

The Homeless Partners Christmas Wish List project is being undertaken by DFW Church of Christ partnering with the Main Street Church of Christ.  Everyone involved is a Volenteer

  • Trials & Temptations

    • From: RichardRay
    • Description:

       Friday November 13, 2009

Warning -  lot of God talk in this blog.  Proceed with that caution.

As some of you know, this has been a trying time for the Ray household.  Catherine's 81-year-old father underwent bypass surgery last week and suffered a series of strokes.   That combined with a bunch of other family challenges (when it rains, it really does pour!) have led to a lot of prayer, soul searching, Bible study.  One particular discussion between Catherine and sister Darla had me cracking The Book today and addressing what I think is a common misconception among Believers - that "God won't give me more than I can handle."  In terms of temptation -- that promise is clear:

"God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (1 Corinthians 10:13)

But trials - those are a different story.  In fact, the God who loves us does give us more than we can handle - at least, more than we can handle on our own.  I believe that when we come to the end of what, we think, we can deal with, we are forced to turn to Him:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

I'm reminded that yesterday is gone.  Tomorrow has worries of its own.  Today we are to "give thanks in all circumstance" and revel in the blessings He has heaped upon us.

For days prior to the onset of this latest set of trials I've had the words to a Praise Song playing in my head (another gift from God) - preparing me I believe now for what was ahead.

"Strength will rise, as we wait upon the Lord, wait upon the Lord."

So why waste time trying to discover what prompted Major Nidal Malik to open fire at Fort Hood

Why is Fort Hood a Surprise?
By David Rushton   Friday, November 6, 2009

I have long been mystified as to why Americans and Canadians do not understand Islam. It is very simple. While most Christians and Jews pay only lip service to their bibles the Muslims believe in the koran with every part of their being. They rise before dawn to pray and they pray five times a day. They mean business in their worship of the false god allah.

They believe in every verse of the koran and the Hadith. But Americns have never read the koran so they are shocked by such carnage as was caused at Fort Hood.

So let me quote just a few verses from the koran. Are you ready?

Infidels (unbelievers) are the Muslim’s undoubted enemies (Sura 4:101).
This ideal is instilled in the minds and hearts of Muslim children by their mothers.

Muslims are to besiege them and lie in ambush everywhere” for them.
(Sura 9:5)  That’s us they are to besiege because we do not believe in and follow the teachings of Mohammed.

Seize them and put them to death wherever you find them, kill them wherever you find them, seek out the enemies of Islam relentlessly” (Sura 4:90)

I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them. (Koran 8:12)

Take not Jews and Christians for friends. They are friends to one another. He who takes them for friends is one of them.” Sura 5:51

Believers, make war on the infidels who are your neighbors and let them find you rigorous. (Sura 9:123).

Allah loves those who “fight for his cause” (Sura 61:3).

If a Muslim does not go to war, Allah will punish him. (Sura 9:39)

Muslims are to be “ruthless to unbelievers but love Muslims (Sura 48:29).

Kill any person you wish if it be a “just cause.”  (Sura 6:152)

‘’I have been ordered to fight with people till they say, none has the right to be worshipped but allah ‘’ Hadith 4:196

Mohammed also said, Know that paradise is under the shade of the swords.’’ Hadith vol. 4:73

On July 4th 2002 a Muslim taxi driver in Los Angeles shot to death two people at the El Al terminal in LAX and three more were wounded. For weeks thereafter Psychologists and Psychiatrists wondered why this apparently peaceful man had killed these people. But the answer was very clearly pinned to his front door that morning. A note on the door said simply “Read the Koran.”

A few years earlier a Muslim soldier Hassan Akbar in Kuwait hurled a grenade into a tent full of American Soldiers. Two officers were killed and 14 injured. Everybody wondered what prompted him to do it. Simple, he had been reading the Koran and he believed those soldiers were his enemies.

So why waste time trying to discover what prompted Major Nidal Malik to open fire at Fort Hood. He was a Muslim and he believed in the koran. The only mystery to me is why the army would allow any Muslim to be a member. The koran clearly states Infidels (unbelievers) are the Muslim’s undoubted enemies. Yes, we Christians and Jews are their enemies. We did not say that, they did.

Is it not enough to remember how many Jews have been killed in Israel by Muslims who boarded their buses and entered their restaurants with bombs? Why is it so hard for our leaders to understand that Muslims are determined to kill unbelievers and take over their countries for their fictitious god allah.

I do not hate the Muslims. In fact I believe they are to be pitied because they are first victims of this terrible cult of war and hatred. I do not suggest that we should start killing Muslims. I do think they need to be controlled in every situation and never given opportunity to serve in our armed forces or police. They consider us their enemies and feel it is their duty to kill anyone who does not bow the knee to allah By the way I have deliberately used lower case for allah, and koran because neither is worthy of capitalization.

I wish that this horrific incident would bring Americans and Canadians back to God. What will it take? Another 9-11? No that didn’t do it either. I don’t know what will. God is never mentioned anymore in our politically correct system because our leaders are afraid of offending those who believe in allah. Yet Muslims shout Allahu Akbar!” Meaning “Our god is greater than your God.” Well I have news for you. Not only is no God greater than our God, but in fact there is no other God but our God. So let’s stand up and fight for Him.

  • Dr James Dobson - Christian Tr

    • From: Dallas911Truth
    • Description:

"...For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” ( 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

      http://www.911blogger.com/node/21823   Daniel Bland writes:

I could go on and on about what the Bible has to say about TRUTH, but there is no doubt that you are certainly more familiar with the word of God than I. My primary concern here is that we are now more than eight years removed from the largest domestic attack in the history of our young nation, the evidence has been collected and delivered to us on a silver platter, yet the Christian Leadership seems to be content ignoring the facts. It doesn’t take rocket science to understand that the “official” story regarding what happened to our country that fateful September morning is nothing but a house of lies built on a lot of sand. If Christ’s Church really stands for TRUTH, why is the Christian leadership AWOL regarding one of the most corrupt evil conspiracies the world has ever witnessed? Are we not the largest Christian nation in the entire world? What kind of example are we setting for non-believers around the world? It is a complete disgrace that the 9/11 TRUTH movement is so much further ahead in other countries around the world, when we are the country who should be the greatest reflection of Jesus Christ.

As you are certainly well aware, the Bible also teaches us God’s thoughts on Justice. For example, “The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene. (Isaiah 59:15-16)

What about in Psalms when he tells us, “Blessed are they who maintain justice”, or in Deuteronomy when he says, “Follow justice and justice alone”? In Isaiah He tells us, “Learn to do right! Seek Justice”! I recently read that the Bible contains the word “Justice” over 200 times. Please help me understand how we are honoring Christ by ignoring TRUTH and JUSTICE?

If the evidence was highly speculative or inconclusive, I might not so easily question the Church’s motive here. However, this is not the case. The evidence clearly and overwhelmingly proves that the “official” story is nothing but lies, and it is equally evident that high level officials within our own government helped carry out the attacks which murdered 2,993 innocent American citizens on 9/11. The same criminals who carried out these attacks have murdered millions more innocent people around the world as a result of these evil and unjust acts against humanity.

When asked what is the greatest commandment was Jesus responded, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

Many of the 9/11 victim’s families are demanding a new and open investigation into the events that destroyed their families. I challenge you to watch the documentary “9/11: Press for Truth” from start to finish and ask God if we are honoring His second most important commandment by ignoring these families and their pleas for help. I believe that the God of TRUTH and JUSTICE will deeply convict you, just as He has convicted me. This may be the toughest, but most meaning way God will ever used you in all your years of faithful service. I will be praying for God to grant you the strength and courage to handle this in the manner which will bring the most glory and honor to His name.

Dr. Dobson, the evidence is so abundant and clear that I can not help but believe that the leadership of the Christian Church is actively supporting these evil murderous liars through silence. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume that you have never personally searched for the TRUTH regarding what really happened to nearly 3,000 of our fellow countrymen on 9/11. However, I hope that as a man of God you will follow His word and seek TRUTH and JUSTICE for what really happened. The Bible says you will know a man by his fruits. I interpret this along the same lines as, “actions speak louder than words”. This is how we are judged by non-believers, by our actions. It’s time to put on the full armor of God, and prepare for battle.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (11) Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. (12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (13) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (14) Stand firm then, with the belt of TRUTH buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (15) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (16) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. (17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (18) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 10-18)

We are wasting money and resourses on a killer of honorable men. He broke the faith and commited high treason. No need for a trial, Put him on the white  house lawn and put a bullet in his heart and head and show the world that we will not tolerate this on american soil. Do not let the media make him a marter. Its time we sent a clear consise message to the people who would do us harm in our hometown that you might kill a  few, but the many will kill you back before the end of the evening news. I dont care why he did it. He had a choice and options. I dont care if his lawyer feels he wont get a fair trial. He is not deserving of anything other than immediate death.

    • From: weneedtotalk
    • Description:

What the United States looked like

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little girl, Shelby.. She wanted to know what the United States looked like. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Shelby and said, 'Go into the other room and see if you can put this together. This will show you our whole country today...'

      After a few minutes,
Shelby returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly. 'Oh,' she said, 'on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together.

Sooo...... when we get Jesus back where he Belongs--

our country will come together.   Amen!

  • Political Correctness and Self

    • From: texastrublu
    • Description:
For a long time now, the conventional wisdom of self preservation has been overridden by the idea that we must not give into fear. Discrimination is seen as apostate, but while we don't play with snakes or eat random mushrooms that show up after a rainstorm, taking even the smallest of precautions for personal safety is often derided as racist or bigoted.

For example, if a person is driving through an unfamiliar neighborhood at night, sees a crowd of people and locks their car doors, in some cases people would call that bigoted. Yet at the same time, if that person was overtaken by a group of gangsters due to an unlocked door, we would call them naive. Even in our own city of Dallas, our sheriff bought into the idea of avoiding the appearance of bigotry by turning down a chance to implement a DUI program that had been successful in other areas. The reason she turned it down was because it was along I35 in an area where there are Tejano clubs. So it's okay to implement such programs in predominantly Anglo and suburban Rockwall, but not in urban and possibly Hispanic Dallas. In short this type of political correctness is allowing known criminals to pass through without being caught.

Take this on a larger scale and we are called to accept people indiscriminantly. And Americans are entitled to express their opinions, celebrate their faith and live in peace. But what happens when that need for "expressing ones faith" leads to a type of fanaticism that includes violence? This is not peculiar to any one religion, but seems to be more prevalent in some faiths than others. These faiths are often small offshoots that presume to know a better or purer method of belief and in doing so coerce actions that are deadly. This has been more readily seen in the Wahabist version of Islam. I suppose the Jesuits of another part of history were similar motivated to control political policy via religious corecion. But in this day and age we don't see Methodists or Presbyterians strapping on bomb vests and blowing up shopping malls. So it would seem that we must exercise some common sense self-preservation when it comes to certain religious zealots.

The shooting at Ft. Hood should never have happened. The first time this highly educated and ranked psychiatrist went of on a religious rant while counseling returning warriors, he should have been booted out. The signs of immersion were there. He gave away material goods, handed out Qurans, donned Middle Eastern garb and tried to become the epitome of his particular religious bias. And in the bloody aftermath we hear the same things we have heard about other would be terrorists-he was polite, he kept to himself, he was part of the community. Whether it is a terrorist in Detroit that ends up in a shoot out with federal agents, a young man who seeks to hear the explosion of a Dallas high rise or the military officer who uses his access to kill randomly-these are all people who express Islamist ideals. If our current imposition of politically correct thought will allow us to ignore warning signs, then we will become victims. At some point, Americans must be able to take whatever action necessary to survive. And I don't see the current administration doing much to support our cause. If we cannnot take actions against people who demonstrate they are intending to do us harm, then we are simply victims waiting for the slaughter.

  • Little known horror stories

    • From: Valkyrie
    • Description:

"You can't hide it from me, I know what you fear..." The words whispered by Darth Phobos in my Star Wars Force Unleashed video game. Every has some form from fear from spiders to drowning to even small things, like a fear of chipmunks and clowns. What do I fear? Well, to be honest, drowning, I can swim, but still here in Florida, there are always sharks and seaweed to slow you down a bit. But when the chips are down and you are facing your greatest fear, how far will you go to survive? This is a story I don't tell too often, because the last time I told it, someone actually sort of...threw up. I don't blame him this story turns my stomach a bit too, so I'm warning you if you're eating, you might not want to read on.

It takes place in some settlement back when the US was still called "The New World." It was winter and people were growing ill. The undertaker couldn't keep up with the coffins. So much so, he had to design a false bottom coffin. These weren't uncommon. What you would do is place the body in the coffin during the service, but instead of lowering it into the earth, you would instead hit a switch and the bottom would open like a trap door. When winter came however, the ground became too hard. The young priest meanwhile couldn't stand to see his people starve, so he met the undertaker one night to have a talk and to discuss a plan to keep his basement from getting full...

The winter was hard on the people, many died, but the priest told them not to worry because he had sent hunters out to find meat. Than he would smoke it in a hut so they'd have meat all winter.  Than one day, the priest served the dried meat to the villages. There was finally hope and food and it was well preserved. So the people ate. But people still died.

When spring came, the familiy's came to get the bodies. The undertaker explained to keep them from rotting and causing curious creatures from coming, he had to burn them, so he gave each family charred bones in a box. They were upset of course, but took the remains. However when they started hunting again, they realized the deer, rabbit and other meat tasted very different from the meat the priest had given them, so they asked. Being pious, he told them the truth. The meat had come from the basement of the undertaker's house. They had eaten their family and friends to survive the winter. Now you would normally think that the villagers would've killed the priest, but...well, no. Instead they commended him for saving them from starving and broke away from the christian faith (personally I don't know it this was a sin in the christianity, because techincally they didn't kill anyone...) and started a new one that said killing and eating people was okay, in fact it was the right thing to do to "save them" from a horrible life of suffering. This was the first cult to ever form in America. They say that travelers or Native Americans who came into the settlement were welcomed, fed and given a place to sleep, however during the night, someone either a farmer, or his wife would come in and take their lives from butcher knives to pitchforks. Whenever a group of people came in, it was worse then the ganados of RE 4 (see pic below) they would flay them alive and not touch the oxen or horses.

Before long, people did realize that entire caravans and even members of local Native American tribes were missing and the only link was that area. So the army was sent in. They sent one man in, he didn't come back, so they all went in only to meet with the villagers. It's said this is where the undertaker, priest and many of the villagers were killed, but a few lived and moved into the mountains. Now this is where the story varies, some say the survivors died out in what is now Montana, others say they still live on the mountains bordering Canada and the US and if you get lost...they'll find you skin you alive and put irons on your flesh, because they like their meat...a little rare.

Gross, but I'm not sure if this story is true or not, it was told to me by a friend who lived in Idaho for a few years. I think she made most of it up, but still you never know what goes through a person's head. I mean, imagine coming into a village and seeing people like these video game characters coming at you trying to kill you.

But enough of the cannibal stories. Yesterday's horror monster...once again I thought it would be easy, I mean a big guy with a triangle on his head...he's called by fans "Pyramid Head" and some call him "The executioner" or "The Red Pyramid" or simply "The Fiend" from Silent Hill 2. He is second to few horror monsters because he is the most violent and ruthless person/demon or whatever I've ever seen. According to the game, he was "created" by the town's people "idolatrous ideologies", his outfit is similar to executioners of the past. He carries a large sword he can wield with ease or a spear that he is skilled with. Fans had mixed feelings when they heard he'd be in the Silent Hill movie, but they won't disappointed. I won't tell you why or what he did, but he probably added a few points to his ruthlessness rep. Second to few, Pyramid Head has haunted more than one gamer's nightmares.

Now this creature isn't as hardcore, violet, or really as dangerous as Pyramid Head, but they are pains in more ways than one. This is a creature you can only find in the game Resident Evil Outbreak. And it's nothing to take lightly, even though it doesn't look all that dangerous. It won't give you nightmares, but it will remind you that looks are deceiving...and this was the only good picture of it I could find.
